AMANDA

Dn-DTC DOG TRAINER

AMANDA – Dn-DTC – DOG TRAINER

Amanda joined the Homes For Paws Rescue team a few years ago. Her role is to work together with the amazing fosters to help the dogs adjust their new furever homes and families using positive, science based methods; as well as follow the dogs after adoption to offer training support and advice to their new families to ensure they are started off on a positive journey.

Amanda has been a professional trainer for several years, but animals have always played a huge part in her life. She started her professional career as a doggie daycare attendant at the Ottawa Canine

School, moving on to managing the daycare, along with assisting with classes at the school evenings and weekends. She decided to take it further and become professionally certified as a dog trainer.

She now has an apprentice, journeyman, and master level dog trainer certification. Along with these certifications, she also has a certificate in pet first aid, animal psychology, dog behaviour and

training, dog socialization and obedience. Amanda is currently splitting her time between training at Homes for Paws Dog Rescue, The Canine Clubhouse, and private clients.
